How Virtual Data Verification (VDV) Gives Us an Edge
Wednesday, May 11, 2016
The old adage is that time is money and it’s never been truer than in today’s economy where everything seems to move at the speed of light. The way we access and utilize information is completely different than it was even 20 years ago. When anyone can find out how many games the Reds won during the 1990 season (91) in the blink of an eye—or nearly any other statistic worth knowing, for that matter—our expectations for how long a task should take are forever changed.
As a result of the innovations of the global information age, in 2011, Lexur was able to enthusiastically adopt a method of improving our ability to verify any property’s attributes quickly, accurately without having to send an appraiser to the field: Virtual Data Verification, or VDV.
We can effectively save every client resources by utilizing VDV, which meets the IAAO (3.3.5) as an alternative to an on-site inspection, by performing our careful work without sending appraisers out to the sites. This is particularly valuable when the appraisal area is very large or a long distance from our home office.
Our early adoption of VDV has made us the industry leader in remote data verification services. Since 2011 we have verified more than 2 million parcels using VDV techniques, and that number increases every year.
One of the important benefits of using VDV is how the application and information are stored. We use the Cloud to store both the application and the information gathered. This means that VDV, a SaaS-Cloud Solution software, is always available to our team, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We are never hampered by weather, holidays, or even daylight! Similarly, the information we provide to clients is safely stored off site and still accessible by authorized users via the Internet connection. So even in the face of disaster on the ground, the information is secure and accessible.
If you’re interested in learning more about why VDV is the future of mass appraisals, give our office a call. As the industry leader in remote verification services, we are well suited to explain the benefits of this process and the VDV application.
